MD Driving – Terms of Service

These Terms of Service apply to all driving lessons, coaching sessions, courses, and
services provided by MD Driving. Booking a lesson confirms your agreement to the
following:

1. Booking & Payment
• Full payment is required at the time of booking to secure your lesson slot.
• Unpaid lessons are not confirmed and may be offered to other learners.
• Block bookings and course payments secure priority scheduling and structured
progression.

2. Cancellation & Missed Lessons
• A minimum of 48 hours’ notice is required to cancel or reschedule a lesson by the
learner.
• Lessons cancelled within 48 hours, or missed for any reason, are charged in full.
Exceptions may be considered for:
– Severe weather
– Sudden illness
– Genuine emergencies
Frequent short-notice changes by learners may result in refusal of future bookings to
maintain consistency and safety.
Instructor Cancellation:
• In the rare event that the instructor must cancel a lesson at short notice, MD Driving
will:
– Offer a replacement lesson at the earliest convenient time, or
– Provide a full refund or credit for the cancelled lesson.
• MD Driving will make every effort to notify learners as soon as possible of any
instructor cancellations.

3. Ongoing Commitment & Lesson Structure
MD Driving operates a structured coaching model, not ad-hoc tuition.
• Lesson slots are offered on the understanding of ongoing commitment.
• Booking multiple lessons indicates agreement to consistent training and skill
development.
• Long gaps in training reduce skill retention and may require recap sessions.

4. Block Bookings & Prepaid Tuition
• Prepaid lessons are intended for continuous training.
• If you pass your practical test before completing a block, used lessons will be
recalculated at the standard lesson rate, and any remaining balance refunded.
• If lessons are suspended for 12 weeks or more, any remaining prepaid tuition will be
forfeited unless otherwise agreed.

5. Lesson Start/Finish Locations
• Start and finish locations must be agreed at the time of booking.
• Last-minute changes may shorten lesson time to avoid disruption to other learners or
tests.

6. Instructor Authority & Safety
• The instructor’s decisions are final regarding road safety, lesson continuation, early
termination, and test readiness.
• Lessons may be stopped without refund if the learner:
– Is under the influence of alcohol or drugs
– Behaves aggressively or dangerously
– Ignores safety instructions
Safety always takes priority.

7. Driving Test Bookings & Vehicle Use
• Practical test dates must be agreed with the instructor before booking.
• Use of the training vehicle for tests is charged at the standard lesson rate.
• MD Driving reserves the right to refuse use of the vehicle if the learner is not considered
test-ready.
• Instructor Position During Tests: For safety, support, and observation purposes, the
instructor will sit in the back seat of the vehicle during all practical driving tests.

8. Practical Test Cancellations
• If the instructor’s vehicle is unavailable due to illness or mechanical failure, any test-day
vehicle hire fee will be refunded.
• If the DVSA cancels the test, their fee is normally refunded by them. Lessons booked
that day remain chargeable under the 48-hour cancellation policy.

9. Punctuality
• Lessons begin and end at the scheduled time.
• Late arrival by learners reduces lesson time but does not reduce the fee.
• If the instructor is late, the lesson will be extended where possible, or a partial
refund/credit may be offered at MD Driving’s discretion.

10. Lesson Fee Changes
• MD Driving reserves the right to increase lesson fees with 30 days’ notice.
• Prepaid lessons already booked or confirmed remain at the original rate.

11. Use of Media & Marketing
• By booking lessons, learners consent to the use of photos, videos, or recordings taken
during lessons for MD Driving online marketing purposes, including social media and
promotional content.
• No personal information will be shared outside marketing content.
• Learners may opt out by notifying MD Driving in writing prior to the lesson.

12. Learner Responsibilities
Learners must:
• Hold a valid provisional licence
• Meet legal eyesight standards
• Inform the instructor of any health or medication issues affecting driving
• Arrive prepared, rested, and ready to engage in learning and feedback
Progress depends on active participation and commitment.

13. Professional Conduct
• MD Driving maintains a respectful learning environment.
• Abusive language, inappropriate behaviour, or repeated disregard for guidance may
result in termination of services.

14. Driver Responsibility
• Learners are fully responsible for any fines, penalties, or breaches of traffic legislation
incurred during lessons, including those relating to their provisional licence conditions.
• Learners must ensure their licence is valid and comply with all legal requirements while
driving.

15. Complaints Procedure
• Raise concerns with MD Driving promptly so they can be resolved.
• If unresolved, learners may contact the Registrar of Approved Driving Instructors for
further guidance.

16. Data & Privacy
• Personal information is used solely for scheduling, training records, and
legal/insurance compliance in line with UK data protection regulations.

A Higher Standard of Driving

I'll teach you to drive a manual car with structured, confidence-building lessons designed around how learners really struggle — not rushed, random driving. Your lessons are provided exclusively by Matt Durrant in a calm supportive environment.

  • DVSA-Approved Instructor
  • Local Derby Test Route Training
  • Calm Coaching for Nervous Drivers
  • Clear System From Beginner to Test-Ready

Build control. Build confidence. Pass prepared.

MD Driving isn’t built around squeezing in hours. Matt's training blueprint is built around a structured learning system designed to help learners think, plan, and stay composed under pressure. It stems from these core attributes:

Car Control, Awareness, Forward Planning, Judgement, Anticipation

You’re not just paying for time in a car and you're not just having a driving lesson in the traditional sense. You’re learning a method that develops:

  • Control under pressure
  • Decision-making at junctions
  • Confidence that doesn’t collapse under test stress
  • Driving habits that last beyond the test
  • To overcome limiting beliefs

This is why many learners come to MD Driving after struggling elsewhere — and finally understand what driving is supposed to feel like. It should always be empowering.

Led by Experience and Education

Matt Durrant combines:

  • Over a decade of teaching experience
  • DVSA-approved instructor standards
  • Thousands of learners taught online through MD Driving
  • IAM Institute of advanced motorists qualification
  • Teaches people to become qualified instructors
  • active Problem solving
  • A structured coaching style that simplifies complex skills

Lessons are not improvised. They follow a clear progression designed to build ability step by step.

Who This Is For

MD Driving lessons are ideal if you:

✔ Feel nervous or overwhelmed while learning or post test
✔ Have stalled progress with other instructors
✔ Want structured learning instead of guesswork
✔ Want to pass with real confidence, not luck

Driving Education — Not Just Lessons

Most instruction focuses on what to do.

MD Driving focuses on why, when, and how to stay calm while doing it. That difference is what turns learners into confident drivers — not just test passers.
